Youth centre closing, Registrar service being reduced, council tax benefit proposals likely to have a severe impact, roads in the centre of town disintegrating, recycling skips removed with virtually no notice, car parking charges increased (in time for Christmas!), care charges being increased, and that's only the start. HC is currently looking to outsource 39 services which despite the pr will mean lower standards, poorer quality and no accountability. We have had our consultation event - 2 hours and no time to discuss the LTP.
Agree with Spartacus - 'The YCYS framework is, by its nature, a negative starting point. What services can we do without? Perhaps it would be better to say, how do you think we can make more of the money we have so that we don't lose any services?"
Have said in previous posts we need to drill down to current budgets to identify not only savings but more effective use of the money we have. The alternative of simply cutting and reducing services to a level of inadequacy is the wrong path
